Hello to those who haven't given up on me!
First of all, Thank you, Your support is everything! Also, for TLDR: Kickstarter back on, yet ANOTHER survey.
Every time I promise I'm coming back, I disappear for even longer. I promise I'm working on that.
I picked up a second class teaching, and have not figured out how to handle time management. Then with organizing 60 artists for the Tarot deck and running the (successful!) Kickstarter, My focus from this project kept getting stolen away.
I also realized a very big thing. I was trying so hard to find a manufacturer to make my Hanafuda deck like the traditional or modern Hanafuda decks out there, that... well... it wasn't getting made. I was too focused on making it fancy, adding this, adding that, stretch goals, add-ons, and honestly got myself overwhelmed and took a break. The deck will never be made if I do that. So a few nights ago I realized, this doesn't need to be like other decks, it needs to be my deck, and it needs to be MADE.
So, What does that mean for the deck?
That I'm biting the bullet, I've picked a company, and a Kickstarter WILLhappen within the next few months.
I'm utilizing the same company I had the Tarot cards made through, because they are beautiful. Seriously, as a card collector I've never had a more beautiful deck. They were a pleasure to work with, economical, and can I say once again, beautiful?
The box is thick and sturdy, beautiful matte finish, with spot gloss available. The cards are thick and durable, these are pictured in 350gsm, ours will be 400gsm, so thicker!!!
As of right now the Hanafuda specs are:
What about more GAMES?!
I'm going to be focusing right now soley on the Kickstarter, so no new games for a little while! Finding the rules, interpretting them (many are from blogs done by regular players so major things are missing, or are in broken english), and transcribing and formatting them takes a looooot of time. However, there used to be an AMAZING source, Hanafubuki.org (RIP) that is what I used when I first started learning games, it's gone and no longer supported, BUT I reached out to an email I found on WaybackMachine, and he ACTUALLY RESPONDED. The wonderful former host, Graham, sent me ALLL of his stuff from his old site, because he wants to keep spreading the Hanafuda love! So I'm going to start sifting through it, and reformatting it and updating it, so that I can eventually upload it to my site!
Clarification, the cards in all of these boxes will be the same size, small, this is just fir box sizw!
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
Once again, thank you all, for your support, your lovely emails, and your patience! Let's make this happen!
